Trojans get sneak peak of state course

With the state meet scheduled for October 20, the Whitehall Cross Country team got a sneak peak of the state course at last week's Mountain West Invite in Missoula.

Trojan head coach Kerry Sacry said everyone had decent times on what he called a tough course.

"I wanted my runners to get a good feel for the course so they could plan their state run," he said.

Leading the way for Whitehall was sophomore Dawson Powers. Competing for the first time in 2018, Powers led the team in the boys varsity race with a time of 19:27.8. Adam Williams finished at 20:35.6, Kenzie Hugulet had a time of 22:57.6, Lane Wagner ended the race at 23:02 and Ethan Flood had a time of 26:21.19.

Sacry said it was nice to have a full boys team and it is good to see a team score at the end of the day.

Madison Loomis was the top girls finisher with at time of 22:36. Macee Patritti finished at 25:35, and Karlie Wagner had a time of 28:05.5.

The team will next compete Thursday at the Helena 7 on 7 meet.
