Serving Southern Jefferson County in the Great State of Montana

Between the Stacks

This is the last month to view the Kimono exhibit at the Library. For those of you who have already enjoyed this beautiful exhibit, Keiko will be presenting a program on their history as well as showing everyone how they are worn. The program will be on Thursday, October 4th, at 6:30 pm in the Library. Don't miss this chance to see the kimonos before they are sent to the east coast for permanent display.

The Library will be closed on October 8th for Columbus Day. Enjoy the holiday with friends and family.

This week begins a special lunch program of financial webinars provided by Montana State University. Come bring your lunch and join us in the basement for information on insurance, financial scams, and more. This series will run through the spring and calendars are available at the Library.

Dawn Welch will be presenting "Family Trees: Tracing Your Roots" at 6:30 p.m. on October 10th. If you have always wanted to trace your family history but didn't want to pay to do it, this is the program for you! Dawn will also be sharing about her work with the history of the Whitehall Cemetery and the fascinating things she discovered there.

You may have noticed that the mornings are filled with small children everywhere. That is because we are now doing four story times a week. Mondays the Head Start children come to play, then Wednesdays are Kristi's kids and the public story time. Fridays the little ones to come to share a story with Toddler Time. If you have preschoolers or toddlers, come join us for this great reading experience for our little ones.

The Tai Chi ladies are meeting again on Mondays at 9:00 a. m. This gentle form of exercise is a great way to get in shape without a lot of bouncing! Everyone is welcome and wear comfortable clothes to stretch in.

We have had a bundle of new books come in so check the new book shelf for your favorites. Remember the book sale is still going in the basement and new donations are coming in all the time. All items are 25 cents each and there is no limit.
