Trojans compete at Butte meet

For the second time this season, the Whitehall High School cross country team was able to compete at the Fairmont Golf Course.

Head Coach Kerry Sacry was pleased with the way his team competed at last Thursday's Butte Invitational at Fairmont, the same course they had their second meet of the season.

"Everyone had good times. All the runners liked it better now that we are in better shape," he said. "It was a great meet for us getting ready for the state meet in three weeks.

The top individual performance of the day for Whitehall was in the middle school race. Eighth grader Dane Hoover finished an impressive 12th of 161 runners in the two-mile race with a time of 12:13.5.

Junior Madison Loomis finished 11th out of 245 runners in the junior varsity girls race that featured numerous competitors from several AA schools. She had a time of 22:36.8.

Macee Patritti ended the race with a time of 25:03.1. Karlie Wagner ended the race with a time of 27:44.9.

Members of the boys team also competed in the junior varsity race. Freshman Adam Williams was the top finisher. He placed 70th out of 303 runners with a time of 19:344. Kenzie Hugulet had a time of 22:20.2, Tommy Emerson finished at 22:40.1, Ethan Flood ended the race at 25:00 and Lane Wagner finished at 25:01.2.
