WILLIAM BIEBER

Bill Bieber, age 81, of Whitehall passed away unexpectedly September 23, 2018 at St. James Healthcare at Butte, Montana.

Funeral services will be held Friday, September 28, 2018, at 1:00 PM from the K&L Mortuary Chapel at Whitehall with Pastor Jim Mavis officiating. Interment will follow in the Whitehall Cemetery. A potluck celebration of life at the Whitehall Assembly of God will follow the interment. The family will be receiving friends at the K&L Mortuary Chapel Thursday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 PM.

Bill was born July 19, 1937 at Bismarck, North Dakota to Fred and Magdalina (Heilman) Bieber. He was raised and attended school in Regent, North Dakota. He worked in Regent on his family's farm and at the Farmer's Union Co-Op. He later moved to Great Falls, Montana to work as a welder on the oil rigs in the area. While in Great Falls he met the love of his life, Bonnie Taylor. They were married October 16, 1959 at the Bethel Lutheran Church in Great Falls. They returned to Regent for the next three years where Bill and Bonnie worked again on his family farm. In 1965, they moved to Whitehall Montana. Bill worked as a mechanic on the heavy equipment during construction of the freeway through Montana. Later he worked as a mechanic for the Anaconda Company and in 1981 he began working at the Golden Sunlight Mine at Whitehall retiring in 2001.

Bill was an outdoorsman enjoying camping and hunting. He loved working on any type of project and definitely cut a lot of wood. Bill created 15 years of adventures and memories with his family by spending summers in Alaska fishing together.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Bonnie October 19, 2007, his infant sister Helen Bieber, sister Doris Costello, brothers Fred, Dan, and Rhinhold Bieber.

Survivors include his children William (Dawn) Bieber of Soldotna, Alaska, Ruth (Victor) Krieger of Helena, Kelly Jay Bieber of Whitehall, and Jim (Lauren) Bieber of Frenchtown, grandchildren: Hannah Jay Bieber, Keeley Bieber, Brittaney Bieber, Clair Crosby, Brooklyn Ann Bieber, and Sydney Lee Bieber, great grandchildren: Domeauniek McGuire, Jade McGuire, and Cambria Spane, and sister-in-law Esther Bieber.
