Helen Williams, 86, of Gillette passed away on September 7, 2018 in Gillette Wyoming. Helen was born in Vendome, Montana to Nick and Lyla Kontos on November 4, 1931. She graduated from Whitehall High school in 1950. She went on and earned a Master's Degree in Education from Western Montana College. She taught school in Butte, Montana and Cardwell, Montana. She served as the County Superintendent of Schools for Jefferson County. Helen was an accomplished musician, an avid reader, and a devout Christian. She taught her family humility, honesty, integrity, and courage. She gave unconditional love and encouragement to her children and grandchildren. She was a loyal friend and fierce defender of the constitution. Helen will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Helen is survived by her daughters, Thelma Mazur and husband Brian of Enderby, British Columbia; Lyla Downey and husband Bob of Gillette, Wyoming; six grandchildren: Craig Held, Annette Shuck, Josh Mazur, Jeremy Mazur, Brandon Mazur, and Tamieka Mazur, and nine great grandchildren. Helen is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Raymond Williams, her son Nick Williams, and her brother Sam Kontos. Helen will be laid to rest in Montana by her husband and son.
