Peggy Stanton Krause

Peggy Krause peacefully passed away with her family by her side on 8-18-18. Peggy was born on March 13, 1928 in Bell, CA and "lived a wonderful life." Peggy graduated from San Bernardino HS in CA, then married Art Krause (preceded her in death, but now they are together). They built their first house in San Bernardino in 1948, had 2 daughters and then moved to the mountain community of Twin Peaks, CA. Peggy was a stay at home mom while "her girls" grew older, then she worked for 22 years with the Rim of the World School District as the attendance secretary. Peggy and her family were members of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Lake Arrowhead. Peggy and Art were members of a gourmet dinner group called the Gluttons and from that name, you know Peggy loved to cook, try new recipes and was always tempting her family with, "try this!"

After retiring, she and Art moved to Banning, CA to a beautiful retirement community (no snow, lots of sunshine) where she enjoyed golf, being one of the founding members of LEGS the woman's golf league, craft and exercise classes, volunteering at New Horizons HS. Peggy was a joyful member of the Red Hats Society. She met with her high school friends for their monthly luncheon for 30+ years and was on their class reunion committee for 65 years. Peggy and Art traveled throughout the United States, Canada, the Caribbean, South America, and Peggy was treated to a birthday trip to England. They moved to Whitehall in 2012 to be close to their girls.

Peggy thoroughly enjoyed life, is so loved by all her family and she dearly loved her daughters. She was always up for an adventure, a new experience, and loved meeting and talking with people. One of Peggy's favorite quotes is so fitting for her life: "and with joy on every birthday count your age by friends not years."

Peggy is survived by her daughters Ann Palmer and Jayne Dean; 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and wonderful cousins that came to visit just last year. A Mass will be celebrated at St. Teresa of Avila on Saturday, August 25 at 10:00 a.m. with a reception following the Mass.

Rest in heavenly peace, mom. We love you and we will always want another cup of coffee and visit with you.
