Serving Southern Jefferson County in the Great State of Montana
It's pretty safe to say that swimming and going to the movies are a hit with most families. This Friday night local residents will have the chance to do both at the Whitehall Community Pool.
Pool Pals Inc. is hosting a "Dive In" fundraiser Friday, August 17 that will feature food, fun, and two movies.
"Finding Dory" is scheduled to play at 7:30 p.m. and "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales" is slated to play at 9 p.m.
Pool manager Allissa Christensen and staff are very excited to be helping with the fundraiser.
"We've never done anything like it and I'm personally looking forward to spending time with everyone that loves the pool," she said.
The cost for the event is $10 for a single, $15 for a couple, $40 for a family of five or less, and $50 for a family of 6 or more. According to Maxine Samuelson of Pool Pals, the admission includes one walking taco, ice cream, cake, and a beverage. Residents cannot bring their own food or beverages. Glass containers and alcoholic beverages are prohibited.
Christensen wanted to remind local residents to "BYOF – bring your own floaty", adding residents can also bring lawn chairs and enjoy the two films from the pool deck.
Christensen believes the pool is a real asset to the local community and stressed the importance of the fundraiser.
"The pool is a real luxury to have and so great for the community so any opportunity to support it is greatly appreciated and will help keep this pool maintained and maybe even have new additions in the future," she said.
Proceeds will go to Pool Pals, Inc., a 505 (c)(3) non-profit organization.
