Shooting suspect released on bond

A 33-year-old Butte resident arrested after a shooting June 19 in Whitehall was released the following day on a $100,000 bond.

Daniel Adams was charged with attempted deliberate homicide in a shooting that was reported to have taken place during an altercation in an alleyway near 106 S. Division at 10:53 p.m.

According to Jefferson County Sheriff Craig Doolittle, a 33-year-old victim was shot with a small-caliber handgun. The victim was transported to St. James Hospital in Butte.

Doolittle said the case is still under investigation.

Jefferson County Attorney Steve Haddon told the Leger Monday morning that a court date has yet to be set for Adams. Prior to his release, Adams was being held at the Jefferson County Detention Center.
