Serving Southern Jefferson County in the Great State of Montana
The longest running youth rodeo in the state of Montana, the BY's 4-H Club Youth Rodeo is scheduled to take place May 5 at the Whitehall Rodeo Grounds.
According to event organizers, in 1962 members of the BY's 4-H Club organized a youth rodeo, never knowing it would be such a long running and well known rodeo.
Organizer Tara Price said this is the 56th BY's 4-H Club youth rodeo. First place buckles will be handed out. Second to fourth place winners will receive prizes.
This year's event will feature an 8 to 12-year-old and 13 to 18-year old division. Events scheduled for the 2018 rodeo are cow riding, steer riding, calf daubing, breakaway roping, team roping, goat tying, goat tail tying, barrel racing, pole bending and a ribbon race.
The cost to attend the rodeo is $3.
The Grand Entry is slated for 9:45 a.m. with action set to begin at 10 a.m.
