Serving Southern Jefferson County in the Great State of Montana

Patricia (Patti) Joan Jensen 1935-2018

Every now and then certain characters come to this earth to make us laugh, love our lives and live in the joy of the moment. Such would be the lifelong dispatch of the only child of Leona and Earnest Peabody.

One Miss Patricia Joan Peabody, was born July 22, 1935, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Following her parents' divorce Miss Patti and her mom moved to Southern California. At age 19 she met her handsome prince Norman L. Jensen and they married one week later.

The couple was blessed with 56 years and two very active sons Norman and Noel. She was most proud of her work as hospital cook in Solvang California. Always the consummate housekeeper and cook, Patti told of baking cookies for her little boys. After Patti asked Normie give a bite to his little brother there came screams from the bedroom where young Norman had indeed bitten little Noel as instructed. Her boys reportedly followed in their father's contracting ambitions and their mother's antics, by secretly undermining their family home in Anaheim while she slept after working the nightshift. Neighbors inquired as to why her kids were riding bikes with no handlebars, seats or kickstands? Patti had taken their bikes, removed parts and "stashed them" in the rafters of the garage to punish them. In 1967 upon moving to Santa Ynez Valley, California it was enterprising son Norm that kept her busy peeling and pickling 60 tiny quail farm eggs a day for sales to a local pub. One time, young Noel "opened up" his septic system by building a fire atop the lid of the frozen tank (which blew up and threw him in the air). In 1975 they moved to Kalispell and in 1984 they settled in the Jefferson Valley where they rebuilt the Waterloo schoolhouse and grounds to museum quality. The couple lived there until Norman's passing in 2009.

This has been the life of one very entertaining and endearing gal who passed from us on February 3, 2018. Farewell, dear Patti and thank you for all the recipes, crafts and lovely handmade blankets, rugs and wall hangings and wonderful memories you left us to remember you by. With love, Norman (Patsy) Jensen, Noel (Bev) Jensen of Whitehall and the many grands, great grands and great, great grands and friends and relatives spread out all over the country, we miss you already.
