Interstate robberies target ATM's

Two days after a botched attempt to take an ATM at the Cardwell Store, two suspects were able to steal an ATM at an Exxon store off Interstate 15 in Idaho Falls.

The IFPD has pictures of a flat-bed Super Duty Ford Truck used at both incidents. The the truck was stolen, and the New Mexico license plates were stolen from another vehicle.

The Jefferson County Sheriff's Department was dispatched to the Cardwell Store located at 770 East Hwy 2 at 7:06 a.m. on December 26.

In the Idaho robbery, the suspects were reported to have arrived at the store December 28 at approximately 2:45 a.m. The IFPD reports the suspects broke the glass at the front of the store and used the truck to pull the ATM from the store.

"One suspect wrapped a chain around the ATM while the other drove the truck forward to yank the ATM from the store," the IFPD stated.

The suspected were both wearing hooded sweatshirts and appeared to be wearing ski masks.

Anyone with information about the robberies should call the Jefferson Valley Sheriff's Department at 406-225-4075 or the IFPD at 208-529-1200.
