Musical programs a boon to local community

Year in and out, area students entertain local residents in December with some great musical performances. For those that are able to look at the paper on Wednesday, December 13, Whitehall K-8 students will be performing what should be a wonderful show at 7 p.m. in the Varsity Gym. There is a western theme for the Christmas show, and the kids have been working hard this school year to make it a wonderful evening for family, friends, and community members.

Next week, it will be time for the high school students to shine, this year with the biennial Madrigal Dinner. Not only is this a chance to see songs, dancing, skits and have a nice meal, it is also important for the high school music programs.

The money raised from the December 18 and 20 dinners will go towards purchasing garment bags for the band and new choir uniforms. The kid’s work really hard throughout the year to put on some great performances and it is really important for them to have fundraising events like the Madrigal Dinner.

For those who may not have been to a similar type event, it truly is an evening of fun and a lot of laughs. It’s pretty hard to find this good of entertainment and a meal served for $17. This evening is something unique to the local area and has a little something for everyone.

It’s also money well spent knowing the choir will be representing Whitehall with new uniforms, as well as the band with their new bags.

The event is also scheduled on two nights, both starting at 6:30, so there is ample opportunity to get out and have a little fun for a great cause.

The students in Cardwell have also been working hard and there show is scheduled for December 20 at 6 p.m. It should also be a great evening for family, friends, and the Cardwell Community.
