Serving Southern Jefferson County in the Great State of Montana
It doesn’t matter if you drive, walk, arrive via horseback or hang glider – just make sure to be at Trojans Field Friday night for one of the biggest regular season games in Whitehall/Harrison High School football history.
The Trojans will not only be looking to cap off an amazing regular season undefeated, they will also be looking to secure home field advantage at least through the semifinals of Class B Playoffs.
The Whitehall/Harrison team will face no easy task when they take on the 6-1 Manhattan Tigers, a team they have not beaten since 2009, but they will be up for the challenge in front of them. These kids deserve to run onto the field with biggest crowd in Whitehall history.
The team started the season with an impressive road win at Shepherd and has not let their foot off the gas pedal. They are something special to watch and this is going to be a magical evening in Whitehall.
The best thing about this group of kids is that they play as 11. They are not a team of selfish individuals; instead they gel as one and this can be seen each and every time they step onto the field. First and foremost they are a great group of kids, but they are also extremely athletic, fierce on the line, and are very well coached.
They excel at home, but have also been road warriors, something that is very difficult to do for an entire season with a lot of tough venues in the Treasure State.
After having the unenviable task of three straight road games in the 2016 playoffs, getting to play at home in the postseason would be huge. Having a home game by no means guarantees a victory, but it would be great for this team to be able to play in the postseason at Trojans Field for a few weeks as long as they keep winning.
Manhattan will come in well coached and well prepared, but you better believe you will see the same from Whitehall. I’m hoping for an electric atmosphere for an electric team.
The night will also be senior night for Wyatt Alexander, Braden Smith, Lane Buus, Kayden Howser, Garrison Shaw and Dawson Hoerauf. This group has won a lot of games and do things the right way on and off the field.
GO TROJANS!
