Between the Stacks

School is back in session and the Library is back in full programming mode! Don’t forget to stop by and pick up a complete schedule of all the fall events. The new Library hours are in effect and patrons have commented on how much they enjoy having the Library open on Saturday mornings.

Monday starts the new season of Tai Chi at 9:00 a.m. If you are looking for a gentle exercise program that provides an excellent workout, this is the place to start. The class is ongoing throughout the year and new people are always welcome.

This is the last week to register for Art Camp. If your children are looking for a fun hour of art history mixed with different types of mediums, then sign up today. Students will begin on Mondays at 4:00 p.m. and finish by 5:00 p.m. The program is open to children kindergarten through 5th grade and the Library provides all of the supplies for projects in pastels, watercolors, clay, and more. If your children are attending the afterschool program, they are already registered for Thursdays.

The first Musical Story Time will take place on Wednesday, September 13 at 10:30 p.m. Donna Weldon will be leading the fun with singing and different musical instruments. Also for those musically inclined, the first fall meeting of Music Jam will be Thursday evening at 5:30 p.m. on September 14. They will be meeting the second and fourth Thursdays of the month and anyone interested in playing or singing is invited to attend.

The Library staff is continuing to process many new items and donations for the collection. The smoke is keeping many people indoors and a good movie or book is a great way to pass the time. Don’t forget the Montana2Go collection, which may be downloaded online. If you have never used the online collection and would like to try it just stop by the desk. The staff will be happy to assist you in learning how to acquire books on the Web.

Until next time, please feel free to call 287-3763 if you have any questions about programming or anything else the staff may help you with.
