Serving Southern Jefferson County in the Great State of Montana
At last week’s Community Transition Advisory Committee Meeting, Golden Sunlight Mine Manager Dan Banghart reported the production at the mine during July was 2,400 ounces.
Banghart added from August 1 to 3 about 1,000 ounces were recovered.
Banghart told committee members that the mill performed well, and while underground tonnage exceeded plans, they are still seeing lower grades than budgeted.
Banghart reported there were 7,600 tons of third party ore from four suppliers. He said the number would be down to two in August.
There are currently 50 Barrick employees, one regional Barrick employees and 87 contract employees at the mine.
The mine had one reportable injury in July. Banghart said a contractor employee sliced his foreman while using a utility knife, adding they have now banned locking utility knives. He said they had a near miss August 4 with an exploration service water truck roll over. Banghart told the committee seat belts saves lives.
