Chamber members discuss Christmas Stroll

With another Frontier Days under its belt, the Whitehall Chamber of Commerce is already starting to plan for the next big event of 2017.

At a Chamber meeting last Thursday, Treasurer Jill Dove discussed preparations being made for the annual Christmas Stroll that is set for December 9.

Dove discussed possibly adding a few new events including a quilting show and a ginger bread house contest. She also would like to get more businesses to participate in the Christmas lights contest.

Chamber members also discussed next year’s Black Tie Blue Jeans event and a set a meeting for October 5 at 2 p.m. to start planning the popular annual fundraiser. Dove encouraged members to come and help with the process for not only Black Tie Blue Jeans but also other future Chamber events. Dove and Chamber President Ruby Anderson also encourage members to sign up to serve of the Board.

Chamber Board Member Jan Thorne and Anderson both said they have heard positive reports about the 2017 Frontier Days and Futurity. Member Mary Janacaro Hensleigh said she worked the gate for the Futurity and there was a steady stream of people for two hours.
