Want to hide out from the heat? This Thursday is our last “Afternoon at the Movies” at 2:30 p.m. in the basement. Come enjoy a new movie and stay out of the heat.

The History Book Club will meet on Monday, July 31st at 6:30 p.m. to discuss this month’s selection “War and Remembrance”. We will be choosing from several different time periods for our August read so if you are thinking of joining us, this is a great time.

Speaking of August, there will be no story time during August, and very few programs. The staff is planning for the fall months and cleaning the Library. We will be discarding, processing new materials, holding staff trainings, planning, and getting ready for a busy fall.

As part of the new fall programming Butch Paquin, our resident watercolor artist, will be offering a new beginning watercolor class. It will held on Tuesday evenings for those who are unable to come during the day. The advanced class will keep their regular slot on Wednesdays at 1:00 p.m. The Library will be providing the materials so we would appreciate you letting us know if you are coming to the class.

All of our cowboy crafts have arrived for Frontier Days. The Library will be hosting an open craft time from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Parents and their children may take a break from the heat and enjoy making a variety of crafts. It is a drop-in session so children will not be crafting the entire afternoon, just making a few items and enjoying the rest of Frontier Days around town. Don’t forget that children under the age of 6 must be accompanied by a parent.

Our Summer Reading party will be held Wednesday, July 26 at 10:30 a.m. and the readers will be collecting prizes from the final store. Readers in the summer school program will finish their store the first week in August as they began later in the summer. Keep reading and we announce the final reading total at the party!

The Library is open Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 9:00 a.m. until 7:30 p.m.; Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:00 p.m. from 7:30 p.m.; and Saturdays from 1:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m.
