Serving Southern Jefferson County in the Great State of Montana
Hi Folks,
At our regular meeting last week, we granted a road variance for the R.D. Marks Subdivision at Clancy and removed the requirement for dedicated park land at the Alhambra RV Park. We opened two bids for the Jail meal contract. We approved Resolution 13-2017 to increase the amount of the loan for the bleacher project at the Fairgrounds. We opened bids for the operations of the Emergency Broadcast System and opened another bid for the upgrade of the power supply for the Emergency Broadcast System. These are our seven DES radio stations. We approved the DUI Task Force Plan and approved revisions to the Safety Manual and Hearing Conservation Program. We voted to agree with a Department of Transportation study for a speed study done on Colonial Drive and South Hills Frontage Road. We also wrote off some delinquent taxes for an individual who had passed away a couple of years ago.
We approved Resolution 14-2017 which calls for an election regarding the formation of an ambulance district in the Whitehall area and the election of a Board of Trustees. We also approved Resolution 15-2017 which sets the qualifications and duties of the Ambulance Board. This election will be by mail and is set for November 7th 2017. The filing period for the positions on the Board of Trustees will open on June 14th and will close on August 15th.
FYI: President John F. Kennedy; “We are not afraid to entrust the American people with unpleasant facts, foreign ideas, alien philosophies, and competitive values. For a nation that is afraid to let its people judge the truth and falsehood in an open market is a nation that is afraid of its people.”
