Serving Southern Jefferson County in the Great State of Montana
Norman Dennis Theurer, 80, passed away on May 26, 2017 with his family by his side. Norm was a man of many hats and achieved much in his life. He was strong willed, a lover, and a skilled craftsman. The thing to remember about him was that he loved his family and he believed that we earn our place in life. Hard work was the backbone to his beliefs and he strived every day to get one step ahead. He was dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather and traveled to the ends of the earth for a better life for himself and his family. He never quit in life. He was loved by his family members, along with those adopted additions that were welcomed into the family. This papa bear dedicated his life to his family and those around him. He will leave an empty spot in our hearts, and was loved by those that knew him.
Norm was a project chaser with a skillset achieved by few. In this world, he was rare and cannot be replaced. He had passed on his skillset and wisdom onto his children and grandchildren. With these efforts, he has passed on a family legacy.
He was an avid fisherman and camper, but his greatest catch was his beloved wife Rose. They married on June 22, 1957. He leaves behind his beloved wife Rose Theurer, his daughters and their husbands Jenny & Salvie Espinola and Brenda & Mike Dotson, his granddaughter and grandson and their families Josey and Lloyd Adams and Mike and Sharee Neary. He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren Alex, Maddy, Taylor, and Daniel Neary. He felt great joy spending time with his extended grandchildren (the pups) April, Bella, Rosie, and Dolly. He was preceded in death by 8 siblings and his parents, leaving 3 brothers and 3 sisters surviving.
Norm could be the guy to show up to take his granddaughter to the prom when her date was late, and he could also be the guy to give a spanking when you needed one. His grandchildren believe that because we were influenced by our grandparents, we were more likely and able to achieve our dreams.
As we all know, Norm was a character, and he was funny as hell. If you knew Norm, your life was touched by a speck of hope, curiosity, and need to push forward in life. Leave this as a lesson "Never quit, no matter how old you are". A memorial service for Norm will be held at the Assembly of God Church in Whitehall on Thursday, June 8, 2017 at 11:00 AM with a reception to follow.
