Dance, tumbling recital held at Star Theater

It was an evening of glitz and glamour with a bit of tap and ballet and hand stands, splits, back bends and somersaults thrown in.

It was the "Dancing Through the Decades" Dance and Tumbling Recital held at the Star Theatre on Thursday, May 18th. The Christensen School of Dance presented their students in a high energy program that had the audience entranced.

The majority of the young dancers not only took on the intricate steps of ballet but took on the challenge of tap dancing. If that wasn't enough they also loosened up with a bit of tumbling. It was impressive to watch these young artists develop their skills but also to perform in front of an audience and all that goes with that. Of added interest were the silhouettes on the screen behind the dancers who were dancing with their friends.

Allissa Christensen started her dance studio two years ago shortly after moving to Whitehall. She originally came from Boise, Idaho, where she received her training. Her goal is to bring more variety and options to a small town. Assisting her during the Summer Camp beginning June5th will be Kellie Corona from Las Vegas who is attending MSU.

Allissa also teaches jazz, yoga and Zumba . . . a very busy lady! For more information visit her Facebook page @Christensenschoolofdance or call 406-210-8629.
