Longest running youth rodeo in Montana
This Saturday competitors will descend upon Whitehall for the longest running youth rodeo in the Treasure State.
The BY’s 4-H Club Youth Rodeo is scheduled to take place May 6 at the Whitehall Rodeo Grounds. The grand entry is slated to begin at 9:45 a.m. The cost to attend the rodeo is $3.
Event organizer Tara Price said this will be the 55th BY’s 4-H rodeo, and they will be giving out buckles to first place and all around winners.
She said there will also be a pig scramble at the 2017 event, and this will allow those not registered in the rodeo to participate.
This year’s event will feature an 8 to 12-year-old and 13 to 18-year old division. Events scheduled for the 2017 rodeo are team roping, ribbon race, goat tying, goat tail tying, pole bending, barrel racing, breakaway roping, calf daubing, cow riding and steer riding.
