Chamber Easter Egg Hunt April 15

Each year on the Saturday prior to Easter, local children come together for the annual Whitehall Chamber of Commerce Easter Egg Hunt.

This year's event is scheduled to take place Saturday, April 15 at the Whitehall High School football field. The hunt will start at 10 a.m. and will feature four age divisions. The children will be split up into the up to two years category, three to five, six to eight and a nine to 12-year old division. Kids are asked to bring their own baskets.

Chamber Vice President Don Chlebeck said the hunt has long been a favorite of families from around the area. He said families come from surrounding towns to hunt for eggs and enjoy the mad scrambling.

The eggs will be filled with both candy and certificates for prizes, and the Easter Bunny will also be making a special experience.

Members of the Whitehall Garden Club have once again been working hard to help out at the event. According to member Sarah Smart, they have been busy getting the eggs ready for the event. Smart said members of the club have spent 35 hours putting candy and prizes into over 5,000 plastic eggs.

Chamber Coordinator Casey Chase said without the businesses who support kid's activities in Whitehall, they would not be able to put on the hunt at all. "The funds they donate allow the Chamber to purchase the prizes that fill the many many eggs," Chase said. "We also see a great number of volunteers for this event, and I think it all has to do with the happy occasion and smiles on the kids faces."

The Chamber expressed thanks to all those who helped out with this years event including the Garden Club, Full Circle Tire, Whitehall Drug, Whitehall Community Center, American Legion Post 24, Lewis and Clark Caverns State Park, Harrington Surgical Supply, Whitehall Chiropractic PC, Briggs Arena and Quarter Horses, Johnson Custom Fencing, Split Diamond Ranch, Steele's, Vigilante Electric, Kristi's Kiddie Korner, South Boulder Ranch, Whitehall Saddle Club, McGrew Machine and Fabricating, Whitehall Saddle Club, Lucky J Mini Storage, Jerry and Jolynn Fleege, McLean Plumbing and Heating, The Ranch Bed and Breakfast, Dennis Sacry DDS, Wagner Nursery and Landscape, Mountain States Drivetrain, 4 Paws Rescue, Golden Sunlight Mine and Rocky Mountain Bank.
