Serving Southern Jefferson County in the Great State of Montana
Some weeks are slower than others- unless, of course, you are on Facebook. Activities at the school during April will include a Garage Sale on April 29th and 30th. Details will be advertised soon. They will welcome donations. Arrangements can be made by calling 406-498-5205. Mrs. Moser is the teacher to contact.
Montana Outdoor Science School starts next week and will run for several weeks. This provides the students with exceptional science opportunities.
Plans are being made by the Cardwell Community Church for the annual Easter Sunrise Service. Final announcement will be in next week’s paper.
Just a brief announcement. The annual meeting of the Jefferson Valley Museum is on Thurs., April 6, at 7pm in the Fellowship Hall at the Methodist Church in Whitehall. Arlene Weber has some fascinating stories to tell about the area. You won’t be disappointed. Everyone is welcome.
After the Whitehall Sports Hall of Fame dinner, etc. the other night, I ask my son, Shane, (one of the emcees), for comments. He said that with over 200 people attending, it was wonderful to see so many that he hadn’t seen in a long time. (It was also fun to watch folks’ faces when they recognized someone.) The volleyball team of 1997 were all there and they are still classy ladies. Kerry Sacry said he watched them play volleyball Saturday morning and they were still good. One other trivia about the evening was that Heather Smith was a third generation athlete from WHS. Her grandfather, I.E. Smith, Jr. played on the 1940 undefeated football team; her dad, Richard was an athlete and is a graduate of WHS. John Kountz’s dad, Phillip (Bud) Kountz, was also a member of the 1940 football team and John has grandchildren making their mark as Whitehall Trojans. Wyatt Alexander, Colton and Asha Noyes proudly wear the Trojan colors.
