Whitehall Rotary’s International Dinner – Making a Difference

The Whitehall Rotary Club will hold their third annual International Dinner on Sunday, March 12th starting at 4:00 p.m. with food service ending at 6:30 p.m. Musical entertainment will continue until 7:00 p.m.

A variety of people and organizations will be providing a great selection of menu items. These include Hungarian Goulash, Asian Orange Chicken, Southern Jambalaya, Cornish Pasties, Hawaiian Chicken, Peruvian Causa (potato dish), Lithuanian Saltibarsciai (cold beet soup) and other international flavors.

Musical entertainment will include three separate local groups featuring country and old time rock and roll music with the Rex Davis band; polka, waltz, and country accordion tunes with Joan Jones and Topper Giono; and swing/dance music by Gary Craft and The Little Boulder Band.

The International Dinner is the Rotary Club’s premier event and fundraiser next to their annual Community Calendar sales and Fall Harvest Dance.

The money raised through these events helps to fund the club’s many service projects which include, dictionary’s and a bike safety class for local third graders; two scholarships for WHS seniors, sponsorship of candidates to Boy and Girls State, sponsoring the high school Interact Club, sponsorship of candidates to the Rotary Youth Leadership Academy (RYLA Camp), and the upgrade and maintenance of the historic fish pond in downtown Whitehall. Additional information about what the Rotary Club does locally and internationally will be on display at the International Dinner and our website at http://www.rotaryclubofwhitehall.org.

The Whitehall Rotary Club holds its regular weekly meetings on Monday evenings at 6:15 p.m. in the Trinity Methodist Church fellowship hall.
