International dinner March 12

It’s once again time for the Whitehall Rotary International Dinner.

The planned date for the event is March 12, 2017, at the Whitehall Community Center.

The Whitehall Rotary is looking for people who have a passion for cooking and supporting their local nonprofit/cause.

The third Annual Whitehall Rotary International Dinner is from 4:00 pm to 6:30 p.m. Food service will end at 6:30 p.m., but people will be allowed to enjoy their meals and music until 7:00 p.m. During the dinner, three musical acts will perform, with sets of an hour or less each.

The three acts are Rex Davis, Joan And Topper, and a portion of the Little Boulder Band. This year the price for tokens will be $15 for 10 tokens or $40 for 30 tokens.

Rotary organizers have decided to increase token prices this year to help raise additional funds for the local non profits, as they have seen that there is a little monetary benefit for these non-profits once they have deducted their meal costs.

If residents are on the fence about cooking a dish, the Rotary Club would like to remind them “Volunteering is the ultimate exercise in democracy. You may vote in an election once a year, but when you volunteer, you vote every day about the kind of community you want to live in.”

The Whitehall Rotary is a non-profit organization that organizes highway trash cleanups, blood drives and distribute dictionaries. They raise money for students to study at college and people in need via the shelter box abroad. They are fixated on eradicating Polio, and Yes, Polio is still a thing. Rotary may seem old fashioned, but it is authentic and offers a regular opportunity to accomplish real and lasting good in the Whitehall area and abroad.

If local residents are interested and want more information on being a cook of some international cuisine, contact Arlene Weber at 287-7981 or email arleneweb@msn.com.
