James Larry Loomis

James Larry Loomis, 73, of Whitehall, Montana passed away, Saturday, February 11th, 2017 after battling with Parkinson's Disease for the past five years.

James was born on April 11th, 1943 in Great Falls, Montana to James and Mary (Haynes) Loomis. He graduated from Simms High School in 1961 and from Brigham Young University in 1966.

On July 6, 1968 he married Lova Cherry in Lima, Montana. James was an educator and coach in the Whitehall School system for many, many years before he started employment at the Golden Sunlight Mine. He enjoyed many sports, but is remembered for his love of wrestling.

He also enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing, biking and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

James is survived by his wife, Lova Cherry Loomis, sons James Loomis (Donna), John Loomis (Kris), daughters Shauna Gaona and Trenna Ferris (Rich) and eight grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Mary Loomis, and brother Dan Loomis. Services will be held on Saturday, February 18th, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the LDS church in Whitehall.
