Record number attend tournament

A record number of teams competed last weekend at the 15th annual Cori Bishop, Dave McLaughlin, Steve Dyson Memorial Pool Tournament in Whitehall.
Dwayne McClanahan of the Whitehall Pool League said a total of 51 teams participated, and the winning team of Dan Hamper and Lance Stanchfield received $1,000. McClanahan said he was very pleased with the turnout at the 2017 event.
This year's tournament also included a silent auction to raise money for league members Don Hartford and Deanna Wall, who are battling cancer. McClanahan said the auction raised $2,470, and there were even local residents who were not playing in the tournament purchased items.
"It was fantastic," he said about the auction.
