Serving Southern Jefferson County in the Great State of Montana
Hi Folks,
I hope everyone has a merry Christmas and a happy New Year.
We have some projects that are going to be moving forward early in the year. The bids for the installation of the Sugar Beet Row sewer system will be going out in early January, with construction in early spring. The bid to repair the “Blowout” on Pipestone Creek should also be going out in January. This is the area where the Jefferson Canal drops into Pipestone Creek on the Capp Ranch. Also the bid to reconstruct and do other work on the Jefferson Slough should be out fairly early this next year. In addition, the bridge to replace the culverts across Pipestone Creek on Kountz Road is slated to start in early March. In conjunction with that project MRL will be doing work on their bridge just west of Kountz Road. It has been a long process putting funding together, getting landowner approval, and getting designs done that should offer the best chance of ultimately controlling the Eurasian Water Milfoil.
I’m pretty excited about having Ryan Zinke heading up the Interior Department. He will be the first Montanan to hold a Cabinet position.
