Top of the list this week is November 8th. It was not only historic to the news media, but Cassidi Shaw finished her Cosmetology Schooling, voted in her first presidential election and best of all, Lane Brush proposed and she said ‘Yes’!!. Cassidi is already employed in Bozeman where Lane is a student at MSU and will continue his studies.
The first quarter of the school year has ended and the honor roll has been announced. In the 5th and 6th grades Samantha Clay, Blake Ritz, Levi Whitehurst, Shawn Huss and Cyrus Tebay are on the ‘A’ Roll. Wesley Biggers, Ellis Mastel and Nakoah Falcon are on the ‘B’ Roll. In the Junior High, Anna Nelson, Avrey Coombe, Katie Whitehurst and Wyatt Biggers are the Honor Roll students.
Several folks interested in the History of the Cardwell School and wanting to plan a celebration for the 100th anniversary met with Patti Hanley in her 3rd and 4th grade room after school one day last week. A time-line will be started, perhaps a facebook page and investigation of records, etc. will begin the process. Photos, diaries or journals and memories are being pursued. In January another meeting will be held to really get the ball rolling. If you would like to get involved, please let me (Arcylle) or Patti, at the school know and we will keep you informed, etc.
Randy and Bev Kirk have the responsibility to purchase bulls for the ranch that they manage on the North Boulder. It was a trip to Eastern Colorado. After the bulls were paid for and arrangements made for them to be delivered to Montana, the Kirks took a little side trip to the Black Hills and Mount Rushmore, a place they had never been. It was a picture perfect day - blue sky and then the Air Force did a fly over with their fighter jets. Cameras were everywhere. Some were there specifically for the occasion. I think it was much more interesting than a bull sale.
The Crimson Crusaders home school girls basketball team played their first game with St. Andrew’s from Helena last week. Seven girls are participating and Kyle Gilstrap does a good job of coaching them. Since some of the girls are unfamiliar to me I’ll need to get names for next time. By the way, the Crusaders won this game. It was played in Whitehall.
Family, Food, Football. Does that define your Thanksgiving Day? Sure sounds like this household, except I think that the football will be scratched because we won’t need any more noise and confusion. In your list of things to give thanks for, don’t forget the military, the police force and the first responders. They put their lives on the line every day - for us! Remember - Freedom isn’t free. Our greatest freedom is in Christ. “Therefore if the Son (Jesus) shall make you free, you shall be free indeed.” John 8:36 That freedom cost Jesus His life.
