With the Holidays just around the corner, the Whitehall Food Pantry received a significant donation from the Knights of Columbus Council 8375 in Whitehall.
According to Knights of Columbus Secretary Bob Casagrande, the organization decided at their November meeting that with the Holiday season coming up, they would donate $1,500 to the Whitehall Food Pantry, and $500 to the Ennis Food Bank.
Casagrande said the money was made from projects like the yearly fish fry and Sunday Evening Bingo.
Kim Flynn of the Whitehall Food Pantry said this is a very important donation.
"We thrive off of donations. Without the support from the community we could not take care of everybody," Flynn said.
The Grand Knight of the local chapter is Raymond Harshbarger.
Casagrande said he hopes to see local residents at future dinners and bingo events.
