Whitehall ends season at state

The Whitehall High School Cross Country team ended the season with some impressive times at the MHSA Class B State Meet last Saturday in Kalispell.

Longtime head coach Kerry Sacry said everyone on the team ran hard, and freshmen Madison Loomis and sophomore Adrian Bright had personal best times.

The top individual finisher for Whitehall was senior Hunter Flynn, who earned all-state honors with a fourth place finish. Flynn ended his final race as a Trojan with a time of 16:31.34.

Senior Ann Russell was also strong in her final high school race. She finished in 16th place with a time of 20:21.56.

Loomis concluded a strong campaign in her first year with the team. She placed 39th with a time of 21:42.39.

On the boy's side, junior Justin Gipson was the next Trojan to finish. He placed 99th with a time of 19:16.66. Ryan Murphy was 114th with a time of 19:43.92. Cade Briggs placed 159th with a time of 21:15.90. Sophomore Tyler Lucas had a time of 22:24.16 and finished in 170th place. The top five runners for Whitehall led them to an 18th place finish in the team standings. Senior Kadin Smith (23:49.11), and Bright (24:55.74) also competed for Whitehall.
