Lady Trojans off to district tourney

It's postseason time for the Whitehall High School volleyball team.

The sixth-seeded Lady Trojans will open the MHSA District 5B Volleyball tournament Friday, October 28 against third seeded Manhattan. The game is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. at the Belgrade Special Evens Center.

Head Coach Lauren McDonald said if the girls put their best effort forward, it could be a very good game.

"We've shown that we can compete against some of the best teams in our conference. As with all athletic competitions, it's all about who shows up that day. Obviously, we're hoping for a surprise upset," she said.

The winner of the match will meet second seeded Jefferson Friday at 1 p.m.

The loser of the match will play in a consolation match Friday at 1:15 p.m. against the loser of Three Forks and Big Timber/Townsend.
