After a successful inaugural event, the Whitehall Rotary Club Harvest Dance is back for year two.
The dance is scheduled to take place Sunday, October 30 from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Whitehall Community Center. The dance will feature the Little Boulder River Band.
Rotary Club member Ed Handl said this is a family friendly event that is open to all ages.
He said the center will be decorated in a fall theme, and a meal will be included with admission, which is $10 per person and $30 for a family. This year's event will be held the day prior to Halloween, and will give residents an opportunity to either attend in their favorite costumes, or come as they are.
"It's a fun pre-Halloween event," he said.
Handl added there would also be a pre-carved pumpkin and costume contests, judged by the Whitehall High School Interact Club.
Handl said the Harvest Dance is intended to engage local area residents in community fellowship and to support the local and worldwide activities of Rotary, including local scholarships, bike safety, blood drives, youth leadership opportunities, local fish pond park operation and maintenance, world polio eradication, peace studies, international exchanges and many other worthwhile efforts.
"This is a chance for Whitehall and local area residents to have some family fun, reach out to the world, and still be home in time for Sunday night football," he said.
