Serving Southern Jefferson County in the Great State of Montana
Hertha Lucile Segmiller Larson was called home on Wednesday, September 28th. She was born on February 20th, 1965 in Denver, Colorado to Milton and Kyleen Segmiller. She spent most of her youth in Fairfield hunting, and packing into the Bob Marshall on horseback with her sister Kyla, brother Kyle, and parents. She graduated from Fairfield High School in 1983. She married her high school sweetheart, Darrel Larson on July 14th, 1984 in Fairfield. Together they had four children, Katherine Lynn, Kacie Ranae, Kalie Marie, and Matthew Neil. Something wonderful her children experienced was their mom's ability to love them each unconditionally and all had their own unique bond with her.
Hertha and Darrel spent over 32 years deeply in love. They traveled the world together for 27 years as Darrel served with the U.S. Army.
Hertha dedicated her life to raising their children and was a beacon of light for Darrel through three deployments and countless other military missions. They and their children moved together 15 times; with each move came more adventure, fun, and above all, deeper love.
Through all the relocation, Hertha kept the same best friend, Patti, whom she met in the 7th grade. She treasured Patti as her greatest friend and partner in crime.
Hertha was a daddy's girl through and through. She loved horses, relished in farm work, and especially treasured taking care of her goats.
She enjoyed the very close relationship she shared with her nieces Daneal, Allie, and Tayler, who each cherish their Auntie immensely.
Hertha's greatest joy was found in her five grandchildren, TJ and Kallie Ann (Kacie and Treyvon), Addison and Nathan (Kate and Jon), and Elijah (Kalie and David), who all wholeheartedly adore their "Nan."
Hertha will be missed by all who knew and loved her fun loving personality, great sense of humor, and her ability to love without reservation.
Rosary for Hertha will be conducted Monday morning at 9 o'clock in Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Black Eagle, Montana followed by mass at 11 o'clock. Interment will be in Whitehall Monday afternoon at 4 o'clock. Express condolences at http://www.wayrynen-richards.com.
