esidents that the Two Bit Saloon and Grill is a great place to go for chicken strips, burgers, and a steak, the word is also spreading statewide about the establishment located on Legion Avenue in Whitehall.
The Two Bit was recently recognized in a June edition of the Billings Gazette as one of the four best spots in Montana to "Get Your Fried Chicken Fix." The restaurants hand cut chicken strips that are breaded with a special recipe, were listed in the Gazette alongside Roost in Bozeman, Suds Hut in Billings, and the Chicken Shack in Butte.
"It's so great to see the Two Bit recognized as one of the best places in Montana to eat chicken," owner Dwayne Brown said.
Along with the accolades in the Billings paper, the Two-Bit was also recognized by the website http://www.onlyinyourstate.com as the fourth best "Hole in the Wall" restaurant in Montana. The site states "The Two Bit serves classic American dishes, and they don't disappoint."
Brown was pleased with the recognition from the site, but said they are working hard to give the Two-Bit more of a family atmosphere. He said they want it to be a great place for people to go and get a drink in the evening, but don't it being labeled as a dive bar.
Brown, who took over the Two-Bit four years ago, praised manager Rhonda Robuck-Janacaro and crew for their hard work and said they are the ones responsible for the recent recognition.
Looking to the future, Brown said they will be adding more seating both inside and outside, and adding a canopy in the patio area.
