HARRIET ADAMS

Harriet Adams of Whitehall passed away in her sleep Sunday August 14th, 2016 at the age of 73.

Born in Washington, D.C. to military parents Harry and Helen Houston on September 25th, 1942, Harriet displayed her patriotism throughout her life.

We were all proud of her when she attained her Associates of Science degree at Butte Vo-Tech in Electrical Technology. She also enjoyed carpentry, riding her horse Cocoa, and Disney Cartoon characters.

She loved to share humorous musings, and rejoiced in the Christmas Spirit for the entire holiday season. Throughout it all, Harriet loved a good mystery and indeed we are now each left with a piece of the mystery that was her life.

For years, she and some of her closest friends enjoyed meeting for coffee hour in the morning, with a riotous game of Ship, Captain, Crew deciding who would pay the bill. Many Sundays, she would go the dance in Manhattan with her good friends.

Harriet always took great pride in making sure that every attendee had paid for their ticket and received their fair share of teasing.

Beyond all of this, Harriet was and will continue to be famous for her annual gifting of the most addicting peanut brittle any of us have ever tasted.

Harriet was preceded in death by her beloved older brother James, as well as her father and mother.

She is survived by her brothers Don and Gene, cherished stepmother Oma, many nephews and nieces as well as their children. Harriet is also survived by her five children, Donna, Bill, Bethany, Sarah, and April, along with 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
