Serving Southern Jefferson County in the Great State of Montana

Wanda Terry

On June 24, 2016, a beautiful summer's day, Wanda Terry passed away at her home.

She was born on a cold winter's day in Lamar, Colorado to Walter Worthan and Margaret Worthan (later Jones). Her family moved to Salida, Colorado where Wanda attended school and met her husband of 56 years, John. A family of her own was all she ever wanted so together John and Wanda had four children, 11 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren.

After John passed in 2007, Wanda found another joy in life, being a foster grandma for Whitehall Elementary. There she was nurtured by the students and teachers as much if not more than she was able to give. She met and enjoyed some of her closest friends during that time, her fellow foster grandmothers.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother, Bill.

She is survived by her sons, Cliff (Connie) of Kansas, Wendell (Shelley) of Dillon, Rick (Lynn) of Whitehall, and her daughter Cathy (Leo) Helling of Whitehall, her grandchildren, great grandchildren, sisters Mary (Jack) Howser of Anaconda, and Margaret (Lyle) Ward of Wyoming, and many nieces and nephews, brother-in-law John (Leona) Terry of Colorado, sisters-in-law Dolly Lavoto of Colorado, and Janet Paxson of Virginia.

Memorials may be made to Teen Challenge in Missoula, Whitehall Senior Citizens Center, or a charity of the donors choice.

Memorial services will be held Saturday July 30, at 3:00 PM from the Whitehall Assembly of God Church with Rev. Bill Lanes officiating with a light luncheon to follow. A private interment will be held in the Old Whitehall Cemetery.

K&L Mortuaries & Crematory of Whitehall is assisting with arrangements.
