Serving Southern Jefferson County in the Great State of Montana
As a child, Cardwell resident Dawn Lewton would spend Saturday mornings with her father going to flea markets, and both garage and yard sales. This would be a tradition she carried on into adulthood.
Last week, Lewton was able to share her passion locally with the opening of her new store fittingly named Saturday Mornings. Located at the 7 N. Main in the Roper's Building, Lewton said the store has a variety of vintage, yet practical items for home interior decoration. She added they will also have many new items, and she is trying to have a lot from original artists. Lewton said it would finally be nice to use her college art degree for the first time in a decade.
Within moments of opening last Friday, Lewton had already made several sales and was very supportive of the feedback and patronage from the community.
"It's a really good feeling, and it's really exciting. It's been two years in the works," Lewton said.
Lewton, who is also a local realtor, will currently have the store open on Thursday and Fridays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. This week she will also have the store open on Saturday for Frontier Days.
Along with customers frequenting the store on her opening day, Lewton was also able to share the experience with her children who came in from out-of-state.
"It's really nice they can be here. They have seen me collecting for years and they appreciate it," she said.
More information about the store can be found on Facebook.
