A newly hired head coach will bring a wealth of experience and a history of success to the Whitehall High School Girls Basketball team. Kelly Nieskens was recently hired to take over for Herman Gerving, who resigned at the end of the 2016-17 season. It was quite the weekend for Whitehall's Ann Russell. One day before graduating, the senior made it to the podium at the MHSA State Track Meet in Butte, finishing fifth in the 200 meters with a time of 27.16. A tremendous high school tennis career for Whitehall's Monica Sepulveda came to an end last week at the Class B-C State Tournament in Missoula. The Kyle Petty Charity Ride Across America, one of the most successful and popular charity rides in the country, is coming to Whitehall on May 15 for its 23rd annual motorcycle trek. Whitehall Little Guy Wrestling team wrapped up their season at the SW MT State Little Guy Wrestling Tournament in Belgrade on March 18th. The Whitehall High School track team had some strong individual performances at their season opening meet Saturday at the Sheridan Invite in Dillon. A total of 11 individuals and four teams were inducted last Saturday night to the Whitehall High School Athletic Hall of Fame. Among the teams that were honored at the second annual ceremony in front of a packed house at the high school was the 1997 state runner up volleyball team.
