In my three seasons covering the Whitehall/Harrison High School football team there have been plenty of wins by the Trojans, perhaps none bigger than a heart stopping 19-14 win Friday night over Manhattan. In a game with the conference title on the line, Whitehall stood its ground against a tremendous opponent and made big plays when they needed them to finish the regular season 9-0. The Trojans had six of a over a 1,000 who competed at the meet at Bill Roberts GolfCourse. The Whitehall Youth Soccer Association has decided to join the Montana Youth Soccer Association (MYSA) and they are hosting the start of registration October 26th with a fun night of indoor soccer. As a member of MYSA our players ages 11 or 12 and up can play teams from all over the state at their level including Bozeman, Butte, Livingston, Big Timber, Missoula, Plains, Red Lodge, Helena and others. A talented group of Whitehall Middle School runners shined last Saturday at the Mountain West Classic in Missoula. The large meet included competitors from Montana, Washington, Idaho and Wyoming. Eighth grader Adam Williams finished an impressive 51st out of 312 runners with a time of 8:36.94. Seventh grader Dane Hoover also had a solid race, placing 110th with a time of 9:10.77. After having their last two meets cancelled, the Whitehall High School Cross Country team was finally able to compete for the first time in three weeks at last Saturday's Butte Invite. "The weather was great for running. Our kids were excited to compete again," head coach Kerry Sacry said. Senior Ryan Murphy was the top overall finisher for the boys team.
