The Jefferson Valley Museum is sponsoring a tour of the Whitehall Cemetery on Saturday, October 5th, and Tuesday, October 12th, at 3:30 PM or 6:15 PM. Each tour will last 60 to 75 minutes. Participants will have the opportunity to learn about some of the dearly departed who have played a role in developing our community and valley. The Whitehall Gun Show is scheduled for Friday, September 13, to Sunday, September 15, 2024. This annual fall gun show is open to the public, and all net profit is donated to the Whitehall VFW and American Legion. The show is held at the Whitehall Community Center, located at 11 N. Division. The good news is that a very popular dinosaur fossil that was a fixture alongside one of Makoshika State Park's hiking trails has not been stolen, vandalized or damaged; rather, it has been excavated by Museum of the Rockies. Third-grade students from Whitehall Elementary School participated in an end-of-the-year field trip to our local Jefferson Valley Museum. Given the nickname the "Big Red Barn" by a few participating students, teams of two went on a scavenger hunt on museum grounds trying to locate specific items.
