The Whitehall Sustainability Committee (WSC), with oversight from Golden Sunlight Mine, was formed in 2022 to help Golden Sunlight rank community projects in the Whitehall area by a local advisory group. The project funding cycle is once again open and accepting project proposals until February 1, 2023. In 2022 the WSC funded $135,000 worth of projects in the form of the upcoming playground on Legion Avenue and the upcoming daycare facility next to the Whitehall Schools. The Whitehall Murals Project, spearheaded by the Whitehall Chamber of Commerce, is excited to announce that it has received a tremendous, helpful grant from the Dennis and Phyllis Washington Foundation. After a highly commented public work session on Wednesday, January 4, many thought the January Town Council meeting on Monday, January 9 would be crowded as well. The CEDS is a document that is updated every five years for the Economic Development Administration. Anyone wanting to salvage a road-killed deer, elk, moose are antelope must obtain a Vehicle-Killed Wildlife Salvage Permit. These are available at no cost and must be obtained within 24 hours of the time a person takes an animal into their possession. Permits are available either through law enforcement officers on the scene of collisions or online on the FWP website.
