    When the statewide 2016 ACT score results were released last week, it was a positive day for the Whitehall School District. Whitehall High School jumped from a 99th ranking in the statewide rank in 2015, to 25th among the 166 Montana High Schools in 2016. The average ACT Composite score in Whitehall was 20.9, above the state average of 20.1. Whitehall ranked fourth among the 40 Montana Class B Schools.     Students in Cardwell have been working at a breakneck pace this week to prepare for a very special performance Friday. The Missoula Children's Theater and Cardwell School performance of "Peter and Wendy" is scheduled to take place September 23 at 6 p.m. According to Patti Hanley, the students have been busy rehearsing since Monday and are having a good time while doing so.     A Fall Festival Haystack Dinner is set for next week in Whitehall. The Whitehall Senior Center fundraising event is slated for Friday, September 30 from 4 to 7 p.m. Senior Center Director Mary Gusitn said they try to do a fundraiser once a year, and stressed the importance of the event. Gustin said they use money for things like utility bills and repairs. “It really helps the keep the center going,” she said.     There was a great crowd in attendance last Saturday at the annual Customer Appreciation Day at the Briggs Ranch and Quarter Horses, and Jefferson Valley Equine Center. According to Wendy Briggs, the event went great, the weather was perfect, and there were around 125 people in attendance.     You couldn't have scripted a better start to the game last Friday night for the Whitehall/Harrison High School football team. The Trojans (4-0) scored on long touchdown strikes from Braden Larsen to Wyatt Alexander on both their second and third plays from scrimmage, and never looked back in a 32-6 homecoming win over Powell County High School (Deer Lodge).     The Whitehall High School volleyball team had a great performance last Saturday at the Windy City Classic Tournament in Varsity Gym. In pool play, Whitehall was able to pick up a 25-11, 25-12 win over Harrison, and a 25-24, 25-5 victory over West Yellowstone.     The members of the Whitehall Junior High rodeo team shined earlier this month at the Montana High School Rodeo Association Junior High Rodeo. Competing in front of their home fans, Whitehall had several first place and multiple top ten finishes. Eighth-grader Garris Robertson had a great overall rodeo.
