    5 Whitehall High School seniors will graduate this Sunday at a 2 p.m. ceremony in Varsity Gym. The 2019 ceremony will start with the National Anthem being performed by Madison Loomis followed by a welcome from Whitehall High School Principal Hannah Nieskens.     The Whitehall Town Council welcomed two new members Monday night. Katy James was sworn in as the new council member for Ward 2. She replaces Barb Gagnon who resigned from her position. Roy McBride is the new council member in Ward 3. He will replace Montina Rawson who moved out of town limits. Their terms will expire at the end of 2019.     The Montana Department of Transportation is resuming work on MT-55 near Whitehall. Crews will be at work installing shoulder and centerline rumble strips the week of May 20 that are part of a continuation of improvements on MT-55. Rumble strip installation is part of MDT's Vision Zero initiative to reach zero fatalities and zero serious injuries on Montana's highways.     Peggy Mae Patrick Armstrong, age 91, died Friday, April 5, 2019 at the Tobacco Root Care Center in Sheridan. Her daughter Bonnie was by her side as she made her final journey. Peggy was born in Cardwell, Montana to Josie and Sam Patrick on November 12, 1927.     American Legion Post 24 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4603 have received a grant from The Whitehall Country Store to purchase Veteran Grave Markers for the Whitehall Cemetery.     Whitehall High School junior Britney Welker picked up valuable experience for next season while competing at last week's Class B State Tournament at Montana State University in Bozeman. Welker went 2-2 at the tournament and according to head coach Kerry Sacry competed very well in what he called a very difficult draw.     Four Whitehall High School athletes have qualified for this week's Class B State Track Tournament in Kalispell. Katie Whitehurst, Colby Smith, Tegan Robbins, and Cade Briggs will all compete at the tournament scheduled for Friday and Saturday. The four all finished in the top eight in at least one event at last week's Southern B Divisional Meet in Laurel.
