In the last few weeks, I have ordered new books by Jacqueline Winspear, Fern Michaels, Lisa Scottoline, Kate Quinn, Janet Evanovich, and more. Summer blockbusters are always a parade of bestselling authors writing about their favorite characters or creating new ones. The books have started to come in so stop by and pick out your favorite. On Wednesday, March 30th at 1 PM. Diane Ward and Glenna Waltee will be in the Library to share their expertise in gardening in...

With all of the physical illnesses going on currently, it is difficult for people to take the time to do a mental health check on themselves and others. Financial worries, winter storms, illness, isolation, anxiety, and other things just seem to be piling up on people all over the country. To help combat these conditions and give our patrons the tools to deal with the stress of modern-day life, the Library is hosting the second mental health workshop in March. The Library will be hosting a...

There was silence as she spoke of her family's attempt to rescue her grandparents and great-grandparents, followed by their realization that they could not escape. They were fully aware of what was happening to the German Jews in 1943 and what their fate would be. Cindy shared heart-breaking letters as they said goodbye to their children and wished them the best. It wa...

It is so nice to see the sun shining after our winter storm. It makes me want to spend as much time as possible outside enjoying the warmer weather. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day is a chance to do just that as the library and other government agencies will be closed on January 17th for the Monday holiday. King was a Baptist minister who became a civil rights leader. He led the fight against racial segregation through nonviolent methods until he was assassinated in 1968. The holiday was established in 1983 and was observed three years later. The...
