    Earlier this school year, seventh grade students in Whitehall helped to come up with a permanent name for a new fishing access and paddler's campsite on the Jefferson River near Waterloo. The students picked the name "Lost Tomahawk" and last Friday were not only able to visit the location, were also able to learn more about Lewis and Clark at the Owl River Camp located on Mayflower Road.     There were many strong individual performances for the Whitehall High School track team at last week's 5B District Meet in Belgrade. "I thought overall we did well at districts. We qualified a lot of athletes that will be moving onto the divisional meet," head coach Dan Lacey said. As a team, the Trojans finished fifth with 80 points, two behind fourth-place Boulder.     Voters in the Cardwell School District approved Tuesday a general fund mill levy to support operational costs of the school. In unofficial results, the ballot measure passed by a vote of 73 to 39. In other results from the May 8 vote, voters in Whitehall School Districts 4 and 47 filled two three year terms. Scott Prevost (594 votes) and incumbent Gina Ossello (529) were both elected to the board of Trustees. Bob Magart was unsuccessful with his bid with 290 votes.     After a successful inaugural event in 2017, the Copper K Fiber Festival will return to Whitehall later this summer. The second annual event hosted by Kami Noyes of Ranching Fiber Traditions and Betty Kujawa of Snowdrift Alpacas is scheduled to take place Saturday, July 21 and Sunday, July 22 at the Copper K Barn located at 786 Point of Rocks Road in Whitehall.     There are plenty of positives in 2018 for Whitehall Public Transportation. Along with continued work on building a new transit facility, WPT has also recently been able to utilize a van they purchased in late 2017. Doris LeProwse was presented a certificate of appreciation for the countless hours of work she has done to repair American flags. "She is the Betsy Ross of Whitehall.
