Pool is Ready for the Summer Season; Triathlon Registrations Due by Friday

The Whitehall Community Swimming Pool opened Tuesday, June 15th just in time for what could quite possibly be the hottest week Whitehall has seen in a long time.

Lifeguards completed their training over the weekend and are looking forward to a safe and sunny summer. The pool is open Tuesday - Saturday, 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Daily admission is $5 with ages two and under free. Family season passes are available for $150-$175. Call the Town Hall at 287-3972 for information.

The Whitehall Pool Fundraising Committee is holding a Ride, Dash & Splash Triathlon on June 29th (see page 8), with registration due to the Town by the 18th. The committee includes Allissa Christensen, Gayle Walter, Michelle Hoover, and Kate Welch.

"It will take about an hour - it's a run around the track, laps in the pool, and a bike trail," said Christensen. The pool will be closed to the public on the 29th until 5 p.m. A free BBQ will be held at the pool after. Prizes and T-shirts will be awarded.

Funds raised will go to maintenance costs including heating, water treatment, and more.

"It takes a lot to run a pool - more than a lot of people realize," Christensen said. Christensen added that if anyone has extra bikes for participants to use, please leave them at the Pool on the morning of the 29th and let the lifeguards on duty know.
